Sample Reports

Below are sample individual write-ups.
We put out four individual stock reports per month,
and they cover all ten sectors. Below are recent samples:

Panera Bread Co. (PNRA) is a sample from the Discretionary sector;
Petrobras (PBR) is a sample from the Energy sector;
Massey Energy (MEE) is a sample from the Materials sector, and
Bancolombia (CIB) is a sample from Financials sector.

Above are samples of individual stock write-ups (four-page template) we put out weekly. Below are a few samples of lengthier special and custom reports from early 2009. Sector reports go out weekly, three times per month according to the reporting schedule posted on our "Home" page (lower left). Custom reports are prepared for clients on request, usually on a quarterly or semi-annual basis. In those reports, we run client focus and holdings lists through our 155-variable computer model. There is then a thorough analysis (including subjective and fundamental overlays) with recommendations on the sector, industry and stock levels. Special reports, such as the high-paying dividend stocks report (sample below) and the short interest report (see “Archives” page) go out once or twice per quarter.

Sample A – Here is a sample Sector report. This is the Energy sector report from April 6, 2009 (140 stocks). Two files are attached. There is a PDF file with notes, updates and recommendations and a five-sheet Excel file. When you open the attached Excel file, there will be five tabs to click on -- one for each sheet. All 140 stocks in this report had market capitalization of at least $200,000,000 with a $5.00 share price (at the time the report was prepared). The 155-variable model was run on Saturday, April 4th based on data from the Friday, April 3rd close. The main scoring summary is on the second sheet (tab). Profiles for selected stocks can be viewed on the third sheet. Industry scores are listed on the fourth sheet. The listing of all 155 variables in our computer model, with definitions, and color code is on the fifth sheet.

Sample B -- This was a Custom report on a hedge fund client focus list. For comparison purposes, we added more than 600 stocks in order to create a 750-stock queue. The added stocks were Standpoint Research open recommendations (at the time) along with the S&P-500. The 155-variable model was run on Monday, April 13th based on data from the Friday, April 10th close. The main scoring summary is on the second sheet. Profiles for client stocks can be viewed on the third tab. Industry scores are listed on the fourth sheet (tab). The listing of all 155 variables in the model, with definitions, and color code is on the fifth tab. Client stocks are highlighted in lilac on the second sheet in column B. We did not designate if those positions were ‘long’ or ‘short’.
